Flexi Rod Hair Set

Flexi Rod Tutorial (Tweet This)

Hi Curly Girls,

Have you ever heard the old cliché “the grass is greener on the other side?”  Yep, girls with straight tend to be quite very into the girls with natural curls.  Some of the compliments I receive are actually from girls with naturally curly hair.   Most of them use blow dryers and flat irons because they may be completely over the NOT so tamed curl thing that the best alternative is to just straighten it.

When I receive compliments about my hair, questions usually follow in regards to  styling tips.  So, I’m almost led to believe that they really like their curly hair, but they are just not sure how deal, with it.  Trust me, I know first hand.    So, Curly girls should keep an open mind when receiving compliments from non-curly girls because you never know what hair type they were born with and if they have learned how to master the curl.

Learn to Master the Curl (TWEET THIS)

Today we are going to learn how to do a hair in Diane Twist-Flex Rods, Purple, 7/8″set.   I will show you and explain step by step what I do to get my curls so loose and bouncy.  I know we already have lots of curls, but sometimes your curls can seem a little unmanageable and you can tame them by using Flexi Rods.  Twist-Flex Rods helps give you loose and bouncy curls, whether your hair is straight or curly.  The Twist-Flex Rods should work with all hair types.  If your hair isn’t really curly and it’s straight you can probably try to add some mousse or another agent that will make the curls last a little longer.  Oh yeah, I just thought about a suggestion — you can spray your hair with a little hair spritzer or hair spray when it’s dry to help the curls stay a little bit longer.

Natural Organic Hair Detangler

Organic Lavender Oil Recipe for Your Hair (Tweet This)

Welcome to another edition of Mixed Curly Girl.  Today I am explaining what Wendi uses on her hair daily — Organic natural Hair detangler and leave in moisturizer, Shiner, and hair Sprucer, for your curly hair.  It can be used on non curly hair as well.

This is very simple to prepare and it cost very little and you will absolutely love it in your hair and what it does for your hair in a short moment after spraying the solution on.  Your hair will feel more lustrous and the curls will pop back into place.  I have used this hair conditioner for several years and I absolutely love it.

Click the BOOK link to the right of this article and you can purchase it online and it will be shipped to your directly from Amazon.

  1. Hot boiled water
  2. empty spray bottle
  3. Woolzies Lavender 100% Pure Essential Oil – 1 fl Oz

  • Boil the hot water for about 5-10 minutes
  • Let cool to where the water is still warm
  • Pour the warm water into the spray bottle
  • add 5 drops of the Organic Lavender 100% Pure Essential Oil – 1 fl Oz to the water solution.
  • Shake really well and then you spray directly on your wet hair.

Lavender 100% Pure Essential Oil – 1 fl Oz can be purchased at Sprouts or Whole Foods Markets.  If these stores are not in your area then look for a natural whole foods store in your area and I’m almost sure they should have some.  You can click any link above and purchase it online too.

I love making quick and easy hair buns when I’m just hanging around the house, when I’m doing school work, or either when I’m going to workout at the gym.  Messy hair buns are quick and easy and it’s done in less than 2 minutes.

We should all have less than 2 minutes to make this quick bun and head out of the door. (No pun intended)

A Smile is Worth a Thousand Word (Tweet This)

Welcome to Mixed Curly Girl Hair Blog.

I’m often asked, and many people wonder “Is that YOUR hair?”  I capitalized YOUR because I’m sure what they are really asking  is

“Were you born with that hair, or is it store bought?”

Whether curly or straight it’s always the hair I was blessed and born with; even though, I don’t think highly of it as most people do.  I’m often told since I was a little girl about what NOT to do with or to my hair.

  • never put a relaxer on my hair
  • Don’t put a flat iron on your hair
  • Never put a perm on my hair
  • don’t cut my hair

I heard about one lady, that told her father that my hair was “BOUGHT HAIR”  LOL

The only time I have purchased hair was when I had Poetic Justice braids (See below) and that was to add more length and for the braids to last longer.

So, I’ve created this video below to show you that what you see is what you get. It’s all my God given hair. Sometimes I like it and Sometimes I don’t.
